Elldex was originally established as a privately owned New Zealand company, however in February 2005, Elldex was formally acquired by Hellaby Holdings Ltd., a publicly listed company in New Zealand, as part of its diversified business investment portfolio. In mid 2007 further acquisitions of PPL Corporation and Chequer Packaging Limited has formed the Elldex Packaging Group.

At the end of May 2015, Elldex has been acquired by Coveris, who is the sixth largest global plastic packaging company in the world.

Formed by the combination of Exopack, Britton Group, Kobusch, PACCOR, Paragon Print & Packaging, and Kube Tech, the company is an established leader in the development, manufacture, and sourcing of flexible and rigid plastic and paper packaging, as well as coatings solutions for various consumer and industrial end-use markets. With aggregate revenues of US$3B, the company manages 65 plants across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and China.
 
With Elldex’s revenues now growing across both businesses, and with our new state-of-the-art factory in Christchurch nearing completion, this is a most exciting development for Elldex.
